For those who truly know me, they understand that my life has been a journey, to say the least. From being on my own at the age of 13, to a period in my early twenties marked by uncertainty and a lack of direction, the path has not always been easy. Each experience, however, has contributed to growth, perspective, and resilience. Today, at 58, I remain grateful for the lessons learned, committed to moving forward, and still very much “kicking.”

I actively train and teach Yoshukai Karate, a traditional Japanese martial art, maintaining a schedule of four to six days per week.
I Love My Kids
Family and fatherhood have always been central to my life. Over four decades of parenting, I’ve made mistakes, learned valuable lessons, and grown along the way. Being a father is something I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Rooted in Tradition
Sensei LaBar is a Black Belt in Yoshukai Karate, a traditional Japanese martial art with deep Okinawan roots. He began his martial arts journey on December 12, 1990, at Reneau’s Yoshukai Karate Dojo in Buford, Georgia, under the instruction of Sensei Michael Dale Webber.
